Roy Innovation Center Building 1 is the first of six planned office and laboratory buildings at Hill Airforce Base totaling about 1 million square feet. Building 1 is an approximately 230,000 square foot 3-story office building comprised of tilt-up concrete exterior walls with buckling restrained braced frames that is set to be complete summer of 2020. The project was fast-tracked for early structural delivery and as a result is being delivered on time and under budget. By utilizing a combined system of tilt up concrete and buckling restrained braced frames, the structure was able to capture the efficiencies of tilt up concrete while also allowing for flexibility in the architecture where desired.
